OLD MAN: Such as smell
OLD MAN: Sound
OLD MAN: Sense of touch

OLD MAN: Just so, memory is rooted
OLD MAN: in certain parts of your body
OLD MAN: Only waiting for an opportunity
OLD MAN: To let it suddenly emerge.

OLD MAN: So there's no need to worry.

TOKITO: .... Grandfather.
TOKITO: Family, exactly --
TOKITO: What is it like?

是啊

OLD MAN: -- right.

OLD MAN: If the relationship between one another is good
OLD MAN: That is an 'unbreakable bond'. [ ed. literally 'fetters', 'shackles', but this seems to be a Chinese (/Japanese-borrowed?) term specific to relationships between people. SOMEONE TRIED TO EXPLAIN THIS IN A CHINESE FORUM USING SASUKE AND NARUTO, GOODBYE. ]
OLD MAN: Otherwise,
OLD MAN: It's only unnecessary trouble, and nothing more. [ ed., fascinatingly, end-particle denotes "and nothing more". ]

OLD MAN: No matter how you may want
OLD MAN: to let go of that unnecessary trouble
OLD MAN: It still lingers
OLD MAN: and haunts you.

OLD MAN: Just like looking at
OLD MAN: Trees, independent of each other
OLD MAN: but are, underneath
OLD MAN: intertwined at the roots. [ ed. this may be a double-reference, 'deep-rooted' is much closer, because the saying is about something difficult to untangle. ]
